As a business, it's always difficult to determine when to shred your financial documents.
Many companies end up with boxes and boxes of files just lying around that aren't protected.
According to the IRS, you have to keep your documents for seven years but after that, feel free to shred them! But rememmber. you need to shred them in a safe and secure manner otherwise you open yourself up to the possibility of identity theft.
So take a look at those files hanging around your office or your home and sort through them and shred them!
